The 18th Annual Bay Shore-Brightwaters Community Summit April 19, 2012: Embracing Change: A New Summit for a New Generation

Eighteen years ago, former Bay Shore Schools Superintendent Dr. Holman helped take the Bay Shore- Brightwaters community from a "slump to a summit." Years later the Summit has grown to be a highly visible, well attended event. As things in our community began to improve, many people began moving comfortably away from the Summit with the mantra "mission accomplished."

As we face a new economic landscape and ever-evolving standards in education while welcoming new legislators and a new superintendent to Bay Shore, Mr. Peter Dion, it is more important than ever that we unite as a community to celebrate the achievements we have made and to address the issues we still face. 

This year's Bay Shore-Brightwaters Community Summit will be re-imagined and re-vitalized. Our collective cooperation at this year's Summit will illustrate that the economic issues around us have galvanized us into a force that is willing to work together for common goals. 

I look forward to seeing you there. The journey begun in 1993 will continue with Mr. Dion's vision, dedication and enthusiasm … and with all of us. 

The Bay Shore-Brightwaters Community Summit will be held in the Bay Shore High School large gymnasium at 7:00 PM.
